Child’s Play

Balete Park, Maria Aurora

In between shots, this silly lad started goofing around, vying to catch our attention amidst nature’s beauty, which left us in awe. We looked like idiots, trying to fake our poses, desperately wanting to get decent shots while throwing dried leaves in the air, while this kid did it like a pro.

I’ve always been fascinated in taking portaits of random people, esp. kids. I just don’t have the eye, the talent, and the technology for it. I wanted to use my trusty Holga 120 GCFN. Too bad the place was too bright and I couldn’t find a dark spot to take out the film, rewind, and replace with a fresh roll :( That would’ve made my life so much easier. ‘Cos with lomo, I don’t have to think, I just shoot (not that I’m any good at it) :| But the amazing thing about a child’s innocence is that even with a point & shoot camera, one’s genuine zest for life trancends any lens.

I guess it’s true what they say, it was easier when we were younger.

About:

Few things you should know about me:

I'm Rach (pronounced as Reych, not Ratch). And no, it's not Rich either :|
I took a 5-year Management program at UA&P, but green will ALWAYS run through my veins.
I speak my mind, but I do know when to shut up.
I'm very transparent, but I can also be a chameleon.
I like being independent, there's no but to that. It is what it is.
I'm Catholic but I try to live a Christian life.
I love talking about religion and other day-to-day issues that actually matter, but I don't mind talking about stupid things, too.
I like to argue. I should probably take up law.
I like to see the good in people, but I'm not naive.
I believe in change but sadly, I've lost confidence in our government.
Despite my lack of optimism towards my country, I still want to raise my kids in the Philippines.
I grew up in Alabang but after 8 years of living in Ortigas, I've completely lost my sense of direction in the South.
I don't mind multi-tasking, but I get stressed too. I'm not an alien.
I negotiate for a living
After a long day's work, my mind automatically goes on hibernate mode
I used to collect coloring books and stickers.
I love Polly Pocket.
My favorite color is red, but people always assume it to be pink.
I'm a lefty but I used to be ambidextrous.
Aside from English and Tagalog, I'm also fluent in Sarcasm, Banana and Shigidig Talk. Ask me how it goes, I'm more than willing to teach you =)
I took up gymnastics when I was in grade school.
I've been dancing for the past 10 years.
I've recently developed a strong passion for Poi. I want to be a good fire dancer.
I was once part of DLSZ's grade school chorale but somehow, I lost my talent in singing. Thus, I am a frustrated singer.
I appreciate all types of music.
I like watching live bands.
I prefer beer over wine.
I drink not to get drunk.
I want to put up my own mobile bar. I shall name it "Drink & Purge". Note on the side, I have 1 rule: You vomit, you clean it!
I'm into lomography, but I don't consider myself a lomographer.
I go crazy over plastic toy cameras.
I appreciate photography and abstract, but I don't particularly like art. Well, some aspects of it.
I enjoy watching movies, but I tend to doze off in between boring scenes.
I like to travel (a lot).
I love the beach, but I don't exactly have the beach bod (ha-ha!)
I love fashion. My outfit usually reflects my mood.
I'm addicted to shoes and bags. If I could live in my closet, I would :)
I hate needles, but I have 3 tattoos (I kind of want to have the first one removed. Don't ask why)
I hate lizards and frogs, real or plastic.
I hate sneezing.
I especially hate sneezing when I'm driving.
I sometimes do my make up while I'm driving.
I tend to multi-task while driving (I don't really know why but that's my thing).
I love to drive fast.
I've been in a (semi) serious car accident thrice.
My first car was a white 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer Grand Sport Rally (GSR). Mom sold it last August and I cried for weeks. Saree was my ultimate road bud :(
I love fluffy dogs. My first love was Paopao, an 8-month old Maltese. Mom sold him, too and I didn't speak to her for 2 months :(
I'm generally a nice person, I think? But I am a self-confessed bitch, too (only when necessary).
I do not like taking advantage of other people
And no, I do not appreciate being taken advantage of
I love my friends to death :)
I once shoved my friend's ex in front of our school and said the P.I, word with full force. Never knew I had that in me (Yes, I am superwoman ha-ha!)
I'm quite easy to please.
I laugh like a boy.
I cry when I'm really upset.
I forgive, but sad to say.. I don't forget.

So now you know..

Kthxbye :)
