Child’s Play
Balete Park, Maria Aurora
10/31/11
In between shots, this silly lad started goofing around, vying to catch our attention amidst nature’s beauty, which left us in awe. We looked like idiots, trying to fake our poses, desperately wanting to get decent shots while throwing dried leaves in the air, while this kid did it like a pro.
I’ve always been fascinated in taking portaits of random people, esp. kids. I just don’t have the eye, the talent, and the technology for it. I wanted to use my trusty Holga 120 GCFN. Too bad the place was too bright and I couldn’t find a dark spot to take out the film, rewind, and replace with a fresh roll :( That would’ve made my life so much easier. ‘Cos with lomo, I don’t have to think, I just shoot (not that I’m any good at it) :| But the amazing thing about a child’s innocence is that even with a point & shoot camera, one’s genuine zest for life trancends any lens.
I guess it’s true what they say, it was easier when we were younger.
